Eating in-season foods means eating the freshest, tastiest, and most nutrient-dense foods available. In addition, making informed food choices has a myriad of environmental, economic, and social-health benefits.

When our produce has to travel thousands of miles to get from farm to table, taste and nutrition is often compromised. With the proper knowledge, however, eating seasonally is a snap. Chef Elizabeth will share her knowledge of seasonal produce and demonstrate how to use a crop calendar. Recipes using spring’s harvest and tastings will be provided. Seasonal delights being taught include: vegetarian bean-stuffed cabbage rolls, oven-roasted asparagus, spicy guacamole, and strawberry bread. Recipes and tastings will be offered for each dish being taught.

Members $25
Nonmembers $33 (Courtesy of www.sdnhm.org)
