A toe-tapping salute to friendship, family, work and life’s simple pleasures. Drive a ways outta town, and you’ll come to a filling station run by Jim and L.M. Across the blacktop is the Double Cupp Diner, operated by Rhetta and Prudie Cupp. To look at it, you wouldn’t know that this little stop on Highway 57 is where all the action is. But trust us, once the boys get that guitar and bass fiddle revved up, you won’t want to be anywhere else.

Packed with hummable, hilarious songs like “Be Good or Be Gone,” “Tips,” and “The Night Dolly Parton Was Almost Mine,” it’s a foot-stomping good time that will make you want to order a big slice of cherry pie and a second cup of coffee, before you hit the road in search of life’s simple pleasures.

Event Show Times
Thursdays: 7:30pm
Fridays: 8:00pm
Saturdays: 4:00pm & 8:00pm
Sundays: 2:00pm

Ray Manzarek will be at Anthology, this place is the vision of Howard Berkson, real estate developer, who wanted to create a first-class space in downtown San Diego where he could combine his shared passions for live music and fine dining.

It was the influence of growing up in Chicago where every neighborhood had it\’s local spot to go and listen to great live music. This experience led Howard and Marsha Berkson to conceptualize and start working on bringing this vision to life in June 2007.

The primary audience of Anthology are music lovers. They want a casually sophisticated and comfortable place to gather, have a great cocktail, enjoy friends and an intimate upclose music experience with some of the finest artists in the world in Jazz, Rock, Blues, Latin, Indie and more. They also have great appreciation for Anthology as one of the finest built \”music rooms\” featuring the finest state-of-the-art sound system and perfectly tenuated acoustics. The Berkson\’s wanted to create more than just a venue, they envisioned a unique social environment that engages the guests, respects the artists, and is filled with culture and creativity… from first bite to final note.

Event Details:

Luscious Noise is a novel approach to making live classical music performance more accessible to general audiences. By bringing the music experience directly to the people in an outlet that appeals to a broad demographic, patrons will soon re-discover how versatile classical music can be. Historically, classical music conjures a general perception that the genre predominantly caters to the mature aristocratic society. This connotation has long deterred younger audiences and those with average level incomes from experiencing classical music through live performance. (Courtesy of AnthologySD.com)
